Tempus fugit

Blimey! I can't believe it's 5 months since I last posted. What have I been up to, you ask!

To be absolutely truthful, I've spent a fair amount of time on, 'another project', which was easy to do, as I'd got most of this tour's planning done and was just waiting for 2025 to sort out the last few bits and pieces. Those bits and pieces are now complete, meaning, I have all my first choice hotels booked and have us booked on the Brindisi ferry. The latter should be interesting, as it's an 8½ overnight trip, with only a  reclining seat to kip on!

I've been through the routes to ensure that Tomtom and Garmin align, which I think they do 99%, and Grizzly is now in possession of those, along with his itinerary. I'm also thinking of providing him with a sheet containing a few words of language, for each country we are going to/through. I can always rely on him to be able to ask for the bill anywhere we go, with his writing on his hand signing skill but when it comes to speaking to anyone, he's a mute! I find people are more helpful, if you at least try a few words in their language. We'll see how we get on.

I have most of the paperwork printed and ready to go. Nearer the time it'll be just a case of getting together the bike documentation I'll need. I've reminded Grizzly that he'll need registration docs, etc. We don't want to be in the same position we were in Croatia, when the plod stopped us, especially as we'll be passing through some hard borders.

One thing I must do, as regards the routes, is to add some more waypoints to my tomtom routes. I loaded them onto my tomtom and quickly realised that they weren't sticking to the intended route. It's something tomtom has a habit of doing and can lead to us doing more mileage than planned, or us getting seperated, which isn't uncommon, as you regulars will know.

Aside from the planning, Ginny has come out of hibernation and had her MOT. She'll soon be getting some new tyres and a few weeks after that, what is becoming, her annual service.

Think that's all for now.
