PLANNING

So, where are we at, with the planning? Well, unusually for me, I've waited until I've done a large portion of the planning, before creating the blog, which means routes have been created (both Tomtom and Garmin), and hotels have been booked. I have a couple of date holders in my hotel bookings, as my preferred choice isn't bookable at the moment. Other than that though, we're all sorted for accomodation. Transport under/over the water, has not been booked yet, as for the Brindisi ferry at least, no dates and fares for 2025 are available. I'll be sure to update you with that exciting news, when they are booked. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Aside from the tour itself, I can announce, that Grizzly's Shadslow, has clocked up over 100,000 miles under his ownership. I not sure when he acquired it but some time between 2014 and 2017. That's pretty good going, though I estimate around a quarter of those have been done on Wild Hogs tours, so well done me! ๐Ÿ‘

I can also announce that Grizzly is no longer my chubby little mate, having lost over three stone!! I can't claim any plaudits for that though, it's all down to him, and now, my little chum weighs less than I do!! It's a brilliant effort and I'm full of admiration for him. ๐Ÿคžit makes the Shadslow a little faster. ๐Ÿ˜

I think that's all the news for now.

HERE WE GO AGAIN

Welcome everyone to the first post for the latest Wild Hogs tour blog.

Over the years, Grizzly and I have covered thousands of miles together and have ridden through, by my reckoning, 28 countries/pricipalities, across Europe and Scandinavia. That's a huge amount, by any standards. But there are still more to explore, so for our next tour, I've decided to take us through three new ones, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania! Greece won't be the furthest south we have been in Europe but all 3 countries will be further east than we've been before. To give you an idea, at our furthest east, we'll be just 175 miles from the Ukranian border!!

The plan is, to leave the UK on the 2nd June next year, ride down through Italy to Brindisi, take a ferry across to Greece, spend a week or so in Greece, then make our way back, through Bulgaria and Romania, before hitting some familiar countries, Hungary, Austria, Germany, France, on our way back west. If all goes to plan, we should arrive back in Blighty on 26th June. That means Grizzly, will be back home in time to share his adventures with his biker buddies over the weekend.

I hope you'll follow this new adventure with us.
